Captain Marvel Adventures #83
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis April 1948 Fawcett issue presents one of the more distinctive covers of the era: Captain Marvel stands tall in his red-and-gold uniform wearing a full feathered headdress and holding an ornate ceremonial shield, with a snow-capped mountain range stretching behind him and a small group of Native figures gathered at his feet. C. C. Beck's clean, confident linework gives the scene a welcoming, storybook quality that was very much the Captain Marvel house style. The on-cover tease — "Captain Marvel: Indian Chief" — promises an adventure with a decidedly different flavor, making this a fun snapshot of the character's wide-ranging 1948 storytelling.
