Captain Marvel Adventures #78

From Fawcett's November 1947 run of Captain Marvel Adventures, issue #78 pits the World's Mightiest Mortal against a towering metallic menace. C. C. Beck's cover shows Captain Marvel charging forward with a steel girder raised as a weapon, squaring off against Mr. Atom — a hulking silver robot looming against a backdrop of raging fire and billowing smoke over a darkened cityscape.
