Beck showing the World's Mightiest Mortal wading through a flooded farmyard, hauling a squealing, black-slime-covered pig to safety while chickens scatter and a farmer stumbles in the background. The dripping title box promises "Captain Marvel Battles the Creeping Horror," and that dark, spreading ooze coating the livestock makes it easy to see why. Beck's clean, expressive linework gives the scene a charm that balances the eeriness perfectly — a genuine highlight of early-'50s superhero comics.
