A full 52 pages of full-color adventure await in this September 1950 Fawcett publication, with cover art by C. C. Beck showing the World's Mightiest Mortal in his red-and-gold costume crouching cautiously over a very peculiar bird — the Strange Worrybird — while a thought balloon with an exclamation mark captures his surprise perfectly. The cover promises "Captain Marvel and the Strange Worrybird," and there's something genuinely charming about seeing Earth's mightiest champion apparently baffled by one odd little creature. Writer Otto Binder also delivers "Captain Marvel Fights the History Hoax," making this a nicely varied issue from one of the most inventive writers of the era.
