Captain Marvel Adventures #105
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeFew superheroes have ever looked quite this overwhelmed — the cover of Captain Marvel Adventures #105 (February 1950) finds the World's Mightiest Mortal in full dog-catcher regalia, clutching a long-handled net while an enormous snarling dog rears up at his face and a chaotic pack of smaller dogs yaps at his heels from every direction. C. C. Beck renders the whole delightful scene with his signature clean linework, and the cover text promises that Captain Marvel "becomes The Dog Catcher" — a charmingly absurd assignment for a superhero of his stature. It's the kind of warm, playful Fawcett humor that made this series such a joy in 1950.
