A massive, menacing green-faced figure looms in the background while a powerful pink-and-purple armored giant seizes a helpless civilian man in the foreground — all rendered with striking atmosphere by cover penciler Gene Colan and inker Vince Colletta. The tagline "And Fear Shall Follow!" sets an appropriately ominous tone for this December 1968 issue, with the Kree warrior Captain Marvel himself posed confidently in the corner inset. It's a wonderfully tense snapshot of late-'60s Marvel cosmic storytelling at its most dramatically charged.
