Carol Danvers charges forward in her signature red-and-gold suit, fists raised, while an absolutely feral Rocket Raccoon clings to her back — and they are completely, magnificently surrounded by dozens of cats in every direction. David López's cover for this 2014 issue is pure visual delight, pitting two of Marvel's most determined heroes against what appears to be an overwhelming feline situation with a bright chartreuse backdrop that makes the whole chaotic scene pop. With Kelly Sue DeConnick writing and Marcio Takara on interior art, this is the kind of issue that earns a permanent spot in any Captain Marvel collection.
