Part of DC's New 52 launch, this January 2012 issue of Captain Atom puts the silver-skinned, energy-charged hero front and center in a striking confrontation setup — a towering Captain Atom crackling with atomic power looms over the Flash, who charges forward through an eruption of lightning and flame. The cover by Stanley "Artgerm" Lau frames the central question beautifully: is the Scarlet Speedster here as an ally or an adversary? With J.T. Krul writing and Freddie Williams II handling the art, "Divine Intervention" promises a charged dynamic between two of DC's most powerful heroes.
