Captain America: Serpents Unite! #1
In "Serpents of the World Unite!", the Serpent Society makes a chilling move by stealing Modok’s corpse for AIM, setting off a dangerous chain of events. When Porcupine tries to quit the life of crime by selling his costume, Captain America shows up — not as a foe, but as a surprising buyer, leading to a tense showdown that ends in tragedy when Porcupine is fatally impaled by one of his own quills. Written by Mark Gruenwald and illustrated by Paul Neary, with inks by Dennis Janke, colors by Ken Feduniewicz, and letters by Diana Albers, the issue’s cover by Sal Buscema captures the high-stakes tension of this pivotal moment.
