Captain America / Black Panther: Flags of Our Fathers #2

The second chapter of this Marvel Knights four-issue limited series unites two of Marvel's most compelling heroes against a backdrop of an aged, weathered American flag — and the cover by Denys Cowan and Klaus Janson makes an immediate impression. Captain America charges forward in the foreground, mouth open mid-battle cry, while Black Panther leaps dynamically overhead, a curved blade raised and cape billowing behind him, with what appears to be a military tent visible in the background. Writer Reginald Hudlin's wartime team-up looks every bit as intense as that pairing promises.
