"Before the Fall!" kicks off a gripping chapter in Captain America's story with a chilling twist: after a quiet evening reminiscing over old footage, Steve Rogers and Bernie are ambushed by Jack Monroe—the Bucky of the 1950s—setting off a chain of mysteries. Meanwhile, Spider-Woman uncovers a shocking truth about Viper and stumbles into a trap, while Captain America and Bucky are captured by the Constrictor, leaving their fate in Hydra’s hands. Written by J. M. DeMatteis and brought to life with bold, expressive art by Mike Zeck—inked by John Beatty and colored by Bob Sharen—this 1983 issue delivers tension and intrigue, with a cover by Zeck and Beatty that perfectly captures the moment’s urgency.
