At Parker's Pond, Candy and her friends compete in a ski race against Ted and his team; though Ted's group initially dominates, Candy and her friends manage to win by mixing up their ski sticks and having Ted carry one over the finish line, securing victory before heading to a theater where Ted's group is nearly beaten out of the last remaining seats.
Will Bragg's big mouth gets him into hot water when he brags to Fire Chief Carl Swenson that he's a championship ice skater—and bets fifty bucks he can pull off a figure eight at Parker's Pond that very night. Desperate to make good on his boast, Will turns to a traveling hypnotist for help, but when Inspector Frank Flanagan arrives with news that exposes the con man's true nature, everything goes sideways on the frozen pond.
