Quality Comics' spirited teen heroine is front and center in this October 1951 issue, hammer in hand atop the roof of a red clubhouse while she calls down to a grinning Ted, who's climbing the ladder — all while a stubborn-looking donkey loiters at the bottom, apparently unimpressed by the construction efforts. It's a wonderfully charming snapshot of postwar teen comedy, capturing the breezy, good-natured energy that made Candy "America's Favorite Teen-Age Girl" for good reason.
