A teenage girl named Candy navigates romantic misadventures, initially planning a hop with a boy named Ted but accidentally offending him by suggesting he needs weight-lifting to improve himself as a date. After a series of comedic mix-ups involving a phone call and misunderstandings about who is dating whom, Candy ends up at a department store where a man causes chaos at a perfume counter, squirting perfume everywhere and creating an absurd scene of mayhem that leaves everyone dismayed.
