Cable and X-Force #14
Cable is down on one knee in a barren desert landscape, his techno-organic arm prominent and head bowed, while a green-clad, red-haired woman stands protectively over him with arms spread wide — shielding him from Thor, a dark-armored figure, and Captain America looming behind her. The tension between this defiant protective stance and the assembling opposition makes for a genuinely striking cover composition by Salvador Larroca, with Frank D'Armata's colors lending the dusty setting a fittingly grim atmosphere. Dennis Hopeless's series continues to put Cable and his team in fascinatingly precarious situations, and issue #14 looks like no exception.
