“...Cauldron Bubble”

In "...Cauldron Bubble," Cable stumbles into Harmony—a utopian future where mutation has been eradicated—only to face an invasion from the Ranshi, alternate versions of its citizens. With help from the human computer Clarity, Cable races to unravel the mystery of the breach between timelines, as the Ranshi and Aentaros close in. Written by Robert Weinberg and illustrated by Michael Ryan, with cover art by Michael Ryan and Andrew Pepoy, this 2000 issue blends sci-fi tension with the weight of unintended consequences.

Cable finds himself in an idealized future on Harmony (formerly Earth) where even mutation has been weeded out of the genetic pool. The residents of Harmony are attacked by their counterparts from another timeline, The Ranshi. Cable makes his way back to the present and tries to figure out the mess with the help of a human computer, Clarity. The Ranshi and Aentaros choose this moment to attack.
