Cable #2
Part of Marvel's 2008 "Divided We Stand" initiative, Cable #2 continues "War Baby Chapter Two" with a cover by Ariel Olivetti that frames the white-haired, battle-worn Cable in a striking low-angle composition — hemmed in by two looming robotic or armored figures on either side, he stands his ground with calm, coiled intensity. The painterly realism Olivetti brings to Cable's techno-organic arm and utilitarian gear gives the whole image a gritty, cinematic weight. Swierczynski and Olivetti make a compelling creative team, and this cover alone promises a series with real ambition.
