Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid become notorious outlaws across the West, gaining fame for their daring exploits. Sheriff Tom Wilson enlists Johnny Hunts and a posse to investigate Cassidy's activities, leading them to a hidden Spanish gold mine guarded by superstition and legend. When the outlaws discover the mine's location, a confrontation ensues involving a mysterious ghost said to protect the treasure, resulting in a tense standoff between Cassidy's gang and law enforcement.
