Buster Bunny #5
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe issue contains two main stories. "Time On His Hands" features Buster Bunny attempting to fix broken clocks with the help of a friend, but their efforts to gather all the clocks at noon go awry when they cause chaos with the chiming timepieces, leading police to pursue them in a truck before they manage to escape. "Bill Bunny in Speed Crazy" shows Buster renting a motorboat for the day; the boat runs out of gas, and Buster becomes stranded. He is then caught on the back of an airplane and carried aloft, eventually falling into a cave where a dragon mistakes him for a rabbit stew ingredient before Buster escapes the danger.
Buster Bunny agrees to mind Mr. Fixit's shop while he's out, but when a clock repair job goes spectacularly wrong at a downtown skyscraper, Buster and his friend Bill find themselves caught between a dangerous rooftop, an angry guard dog, and a gang of clock thieves—with only a shop full of timepieces and their wits to help them escape. It's a madcap chase through a city building that proves Buster's got plenty of time to get into trouble, even if he doesn't know the first thing about fixing it.
When the Merry Mites Athletic Club decides a mascot will turn their losing streak around, Buster Bunny and Bill set out to pick up a puppy from the pet shop—but a series of mishaps involving escaped dogs, weenies, and the city dog pound quickly spirals out of control. By the time the dust settles, the team gets their mascot after all, though not quite in the way anyone expected.
Bill Bunny rents a motorboat for a day with his cousin Buster, but when Buster uses aviation gasoline instead of regular fuel, the boat becomes impossibly fast and hard to control. What follows is a wild, careening adventure across the water as the two bunnies desperately try to manage their runaway vessel before disaster strikes—and the real trouble begins once they finally make it back to shore.
When Buster Bunny gets tossed around by bigger kids during a volleyball game, he ends up crashing into a mysterious cave—where he meets Sleepyhead the Bear, who's been using a dragon mask to keep explorers away so he can nap in peace. After Buster and the bear strike a deal, things take a dangerous turn when the other kids arrive and an avalanche traps everyone inside, forcing them to work together to escape.
