Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Origin #3

The concluding chapter of Dark Horse's 1999 adaptation brings Buffy leaping into action against a cluster of snarling green demons amid a backdrop of roaring flames, stake raised and ready — a dynamic cover by penciler Joe Bennett and inker Hector Gómez that captures the Slayer at her most fearless. With three of the creatures converging on her from multiple angles, the scene crackles with kinetic energy and the unmistakable sense that the stakes (pun intended) have never been higher.
