Buffy the Vampire Slayer #48

Buffy stands defiantly atop the cracked and vandalized Sunnydale town sign — its population number scratched out and replaced with "666" — gripping her scythe against a sky burning with hellish orange flame, and the image alone tells you Sunnydale is in serious trouble. Part 2 of "Note From the Underground" arrives with real urgency, written by Scott Lobdell and Fabian Nicieza with a striking cover by Paul Lee and Brian Horton. If this is what the town looks like from the outside, whatever's happening beneath it must be truly unsettling.
