When Buffy returns home with Dawn, Dawn tells her she would rather spend time with Spike, than with Riley or Angel. Spike is paid by the Japanese vampire to lure Buffy to the old high school in time to witness a special ceremony. While attempting to figure out what the Eidu Amulet is, Willow reminds Buffy that Dawn was almost killed by Angel when he turned into Angelus. The Japanese vampire confronts Buffy and reveals herself to be the missing slayer. Later, Giles admits to knowing that Yuki Makimura, the forgotten slayer-turned vampire, plans to use the Eidu Amulet to resurrect the Master.
