Boy Commandos #28
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeA tense prison-break scene dominates the cover of this 1948 DC offering, with a lone man in a blue suit standing defiantly in a spotlight against a massive metal door while a crowd of figures presses in from below and the Boy Commandos scramble dramatically over the top of a towering brick wall. A searchlight and armed guards add to the charged atmosphere, all teasing the cover's promise of "startling facts behind a prison break" in the story titled "Keeper of the Big Cage!" Cover art by Curt Swan and Steve Brodie makes the most of bold orange, blue, and yellow tones that give the scene real visual punch. At 52 pages for just ten cents, this is a solid slice of postwar DC adventure.
