The Dutch edition of Boucq and Jodorowsky's gritty Western series arrives at its fourth chapter, "De wraak van de beul" — The Revenge of the Executioner — and the cover sets a fierce, dust-choked tone. A bare-chested, powerfully built man crouches in what appears to be a burning stable or barn, his expression cold and focused as he levels a revolver, while a pale dog prowls tensely in the smoky background behind him. François Boucq's linework and coloring — complemented here by Sébastien Gérard — give the scene a raw, earthen weight that makes this 2005 volume a compelling entry in one of European comics' grittiest frontier sagas.
