The fourth volume of Boucq and Jodorowsky's gritty Western series brings "La Vengeance du manchot" — and the cover sets a brooding, determined tone: a bare-chested, bandaged man crouches forward gripping a revolver, his cold stare fixed ahead amid a backdrop of fire and scorched wreckage, while a lone dog prowls the smoldering ruins behind him. François Boucq's painterly linework gives the scene a raw, earthy weight — the blood-flecked bandages and the firelit palette doing all the storytelling the title promises. If this is what revenge looks like from the outside, the pages within must be something to reckon with.
