About this Collection

This volume collects the first half of the 2007 Booster Gold series, re-presenting the time-traveling adventures of Michael Jon Carter, a former football star turned superhero from the future. The story follows Booster Gold as he navigates the consequences of his actions across the timestream, with appearances by his sister Goldstar and other key figures from his past and future. This collection kicks off a run that redefined the character as a reluctant hero grappling with legacy and redemption.

In "Dead Ted, Part I of II," Booster Gold’s sudden disappearance sends shockwaves through the superhero community, especially as reports surface of heroes returning as Black Lanterns. With Rip Hunter dispatching Skeets to track him down, Blue Beetle and Skeets follow a trail that leads to Booster’s relative Daniel—only to be ambushed by a Black Lantern version of Blue Beetle. Just as the situation seems hopeless, Booster suddenly reappears, having returned from a haunting visit to the past. Written and illustrated by Dan Jurgens, with cover art by Dan Jurgens and Norm Rapmund, this issue blends time-travel mystery with the rising dread of the Black Lantern threat.
