Booster Gold #3
DC's self-proclaimed "most unusual new hero" is front and center here, and Booster Gold looks anything but laid-back — the cover by Dan Jurgens and Mike DeCarlo shows him surging forward with fists crackling and energy bursting in every direction against a blazing yellow sunburst background. That gold-and-red suit takes a real beating as bolts of force slam into him from multiple angles, yet his expression says he's giving as good as he gets. Issue #3 of this 1986 series makes a strong case that "Comics' Most Unusual New Hero… Fighting Mad!" is exactly the kind of tagline this character was born to own.
