Booster Gold #2
The second issue of DC's 1986 series throws Booster Gold into a chaotic three-way threat, and the cover by Dan Jurgens makes the stakes unmistakably clear: Booster clashes mid-air with the armored Blackguard while the blue-clad Mindancer swoops in from above, unleashing a crackling energy blast — and down in the rubble below, the little robot Skeets lies dangerously close to destruction. The cover copy asks the question bluntly: can Booster handle both Mindancer and Blackguard before his loyal companion is lost for good? It's an energetic, visually busy composition that captures exactly the kind of fun, over-the-top superhero action that made mid-'80s DC such an exciting place to be.
