Books of Doom #6
The final chapter of Ed Brubaker's six-part limited series arrives with a cover by Paolo Rivera that is quietly mesmerizing — an armored Doctor Doom hunches over a desk scattered with globes and instruments, while an engraving-style medallion bearing the name "Von Doom" looms large in the background, evoking the gravity of a life mythologized in ink and iron. It's a remarkably thoughtful image for a concluding issue, more scholar's study than battlefield, hinting at the weight of legacy that defines Doom as a character. Pablo Raimondi, Drew Hennessy, and Brian Reber bring the interior to life, making this a satisfying conclusion to one of 2006's more ambitious Marvel limited series.
