Cullen Bunn's New Orleans drug-noir series reaches its fourth chapter with a cover by Lee Garbett that's genuinely unsettling: a figure in a bright yellow hazmat suit and gas mask looms close, blue-gloved hands carefully transferring a blood-spotted substance between a syringe and a beaker, while eerie red symbols glow ominously across the respirator. The clinical precision of that image sits right alongside something deeply wrong, which captures the series' blend of crime thriller and supernatural dread perfectly. Jonas Scharf and Alex Guimarães bring that same atmosphere to the interior pages of "Chapter Four: The Fade," making this a strong installment in one of BOOM! Studios' more distinctive 2018 offerings.
