This October 1965 Charlton issue throws Blue Beetle headlong into a crackling confrontation with the villainous Magno Man, whose cover appearance — white-suited, masked, and reeling against a burst of energy fired from Blue Beetle's weapon — makes for a genuinely striking image. Swarming up from the quaking earth around them are the goggle-helmeted Mole Men, an army of subterranean foot soldiers following Magno Man's lead into battle.
