Bloody Mary: Lady Liberty #4

Carlos Ezquerra's cover for this concluding chapter says everything without a word — a steely, white-haired Mary looms with cold intensity over a wide-eyed, screaming figure whose face fills the foreground in a wash of sickly yellow, a blood-red cityscape reflected ominously behind them. It's a striking, tightly composed image that captures the hard-edged tension Garth Ennis and Ezquerra built across this Helix miniseries. A satisfying close to one of DC's grittier action titles of 1997.
