“The Next Penetration”

The cover of this 1995 Image title makes a striking impression: a massive, heavily armored mechanoid dominates the composition, its bulk framing a red-faced, white-haired figure seated at its center within a blazing ring of fire — armed, battle-ready, and radiating attitude. Daerick Gröss Sr. handles both the pencils and inks, delivering metallic textures and fiery energy with real confidence. With "The Next Penetration" as the story inside and a creative team including writer Andy Mangels and colorist Gloria Vasquez bringing it all to life, Bloodwulf #2 is mid-'90s sci-fi action with plenty of teeth.

After accidentally exposing Ogo to the vacuum of space (and blowing him up in the process), Bloodwulf has to make a pit stop at the Pleasure Plaza to get what is left of Ogo (his head) grafted onto a new body. After this is accomplished, Bloodwulf and his pals have to fight their way through an army of giant jabberwocky looking creatures to get back to their ship and take off for the Regime.
