Blonde Phantom Comics #13

Blonde Phantom takes center stage on this 1947 Marvel cover, her red evening gown and black mask unmistakable as she confronts a gun-toting villain on what appears to be a film set, with scattered figures and movie equipment visible across the chaotic scene. A second dark-haired woman in red looks on from the stairs while another woman descends behind the action, adding to the tension that the cover's own banner promises is "Horror in Hollywood." Syd Shores pencils and inks the whole thing with kinetic energy, and the full-length action thriller inside — "Peril From the Past" — is written by Bill Woolfolk with inks also by Vince Alascia.
