Blade of the Immortal #97

Hiroaki Samura's long-running samurai epic reaches its 97th installment with a hauntingly spare cover: a blood-stained kusarigama — chain, handle, and ringed blade — lies abandoned against a field of crushed, withered grass. The minimalist composition lets a single weapon tell its own grim story, and as the second part of the "Twilight" arc, the mood is unmistakably foreboding. Dark Horse Manga continues to give Samura's masterwork the presentation it deserves.
