Part three of the "Heart of Darkness" arc finds Manji in a quiet but unsettling moment — crouched low, sword resting across his shoulder, his expression carrying the weight of someone who has survived far too much. Hiroaki Samura's cover art renders the immortal swordsman in muted violet tones against a shadowy, rocky backdrop, giving the image a contemplative, almost haunted stillness that sets it apart from more action-forward covers. Dark Horse's manga line consistently delivered this kind of moody, atmospheric presentation, and this issue is a fine example of Samura's gift for capturing tension even in repose.
