Hiroaki Samura's brushwork is at its most haunting here, as the cover presents a young woman — rendered upside-down, her hair fanned out and her body still — floating as though submerged in dark, feather-strewn water. The inverted composition is quietly unsettling, turning the viewer's perspective on its head along with the figure herself. Part seven of the "On Silent Wings" arc, this issue promises the same moody, atmospheric intensity that makes Blade of the Immortal one of Dark Horse's most distinctive manga offerings.
