Blade squares off in tense, battle-ready stance against a towering, hooded figure of Doctor Doom looming behind him — the tagline "It Takes One to Kill One" and "When Summons Doom" setting a suitably ominous mood for this 2006 Marvel series. Marko Djurdjević's cover work bathes the scene in deep crimsons and earthy golds, giving both the Daywalker and Doom a brooding, almost cinematic weight. With Marc Guggenheim writing and Howard Chaykin on art, "Bargains in Time" promises a compelling clash of two of Marvel's most formidable — and stubbornly independent — forces.
