After weeks of enemy silence, the Blackhawks visit a hilltop fortress in southeastern Asia where they learn that Darkson, a scientist, has been kidnapped and his blueprints stolen by enemy forces. Truce talks fail when the enemy attacks the fort, causing an earthquake that destroys the armored position. The Blackhawks then infiltrate an airfield terminal where they discover President Dereq has been captured by communist traitors, and work to regain control of the electrical power system that controls the fortress to prevent further enemy action.
The Blackhawks witness Communist propaganda in action, then find themselves captured and sentenced to twenty years in a brutal Siberian labor camp—where they discover firsthand the horrifying truth about forced labor, starvation rations, and the regime's lies about "education camps." Trapped in a frozen wasteland where prisoners are worked to death, the team must devise a desperate plan to escape before hunger and cold claim their lives.
