From Quality Comics' April 1952 lineup comes this thrilling issue of Blackhawk, with a cover by Reed Crandall that drops the team squarely into Amazonian danger. A man in Blackhawk's blue uniform scrambles desperately atop a massive golden tank-like machine while a snarling, wild-eyed attacker lunges at him from above, a ferocious warrior brandishes a knife below, and a dark-haired woman in red looks on from the right — all framed by the portrait heads of the full Blackhawk squad along the borders. The cover's bold tagline, "The Wild-Eyed Killers of the Amazon!", sets the mood perfectly for the interior story "The Root of Evil," illustrated by Bill Ward.
