Queen Killer Shark is front and center on this January 1966 DC cover, rendered by Dick Dillin and Charles Cuidera — a purple-and-green-clad villainess taunting the Blackhawk team as they scramble at the edge of a bubbling lava pit, with her armored henchman looming beside her. The cover copy gleefully announces her return as "that battling babe you love to hate," and the desperate expressions on the red-uniformed Blackhawks below make it clear she has the upper hand. With Bob Haney scripting and Dillin and Cuidera handling the interior art as well, Blackhawk #216 packages its pulpy aerial-adventure thrills in one of the more memorably theatrical covers of its era.
