From November 1963, this DC special packs two stories into one issue, headlined by "The Blackhawk Mascots vs The Bogus Blackhawks!" alongside the interior tale "The Baron of Plunder." The cover by Dick Dillin and Chuck Cuidera is a vivid eyeful: a grotesque, tentacled creature called the Human Starfish looms over downed and reeling Blackhawk squadron members in their blue uniforms, sneering "You came looking for trouble, Blackhawk — here it is!" It's a wonderfully pulpy 1963 DC adventure that shows the squadron facing a foe who's equal parts bizarre and menacing.
