“The Weapons That Backfired”

In "The Weapons That Backfired," the Blackhawks stage their annual Inventor's Club demonstration, unveiling experimental machines like the Flying Buzz-Saw and the Radio Man—a giant robot—meant for industrial advancement. When a group of reporters stumbles upon the test, the machines are stolen by Baron Kram and his men, who put them to far more dangerous uses. Dick Dillin and Charles Cuidera bring the action to life with sharp, dynamic artwork, both in the interior and on the cover.

Once a year, in conjunction with the "Inventor's Club," the Blackhawks test out new inventions that may lend themselves to industrial use, such as the Flying Buzz-Saw, or the Mechanical Caterpillar, or the Radio Man, a giant robot. Hearing reports of strange goings on, a group of reporters discover the testing. Shortly after, the machines are stolen by Baron Kram and his henchmen, who proceed to test the machines in their own way.
