Black Tide #3

The tagline says it all — "Temptation… Her Name Is Catharta" — and Mike S. Miller's cover for this 2002 Image series delivers on that promise with a fiery-haired woman in form-fitting purple-and-black armor commanding the scene outside the Wicked Brew Tavern. A wide-eyed blonde figure scrambles in the background while an armored warrior kneels before her, seemingly caught in her pull. With the series' theme of moral ambiguity ("One Man's Enemy Is Another Man's Hero") running right through the imagery, issue #3 of Black Tide promises a story where the line between villain and seductress is very much open to interpretation.
