Brian Wood and Garry Brown's Viking noir series reaches its seventh installment with "God's Power on Earth," and this cover sets a brooding, rain-soaked tone perfectly. A cloaked, looming silhouette dominates the upper half while a warrior armed with a sword battles through fire and wreckage at the base of what appears to be a massive church door — faith and violence locked in uncomfortable proximity. Brown's scratchy, atmospheric linework and Dave McCaig's restrained palette of cold blues and ember-warm oranges make this one of the series' most visually striking covers yet.
