“Out Come the Wolves”

Subtitled "A Magnus the Black Mystery," Black Road #3 brings Garry Brown's stark, atmospheric linework to a snow-swept forest where a cloaked, armored woman clutches a crossbow, her expression tense as a pale wolf with glowing red eyes prowls the trees behind her. The title "Out Come the Wolves" could hardly be more fitting for this chilling scene, rendered with haunting blue washes by colorist Dave McCaig. Brian Wood's Viking-era noir continues to look like one of Image's most atmospheric offerings of 2016.
