Collected from the pages of Lion and Thunder, this second volume of Black Max brings together Frank S. Pepper's writing and Alfonso Font's art in grand style. Chris Weston's cover is a striking piece of work: a pale, red-eyed figure in a fur-trimmed military coat raises a pistol atop a grand domed building, while an enormous bat-like creature with bared fangs looms overhead, wings spread wide against a night sky — a red biplane visible in the background completing the WWI-era atmosphere.
