Black Fury #48

"Snake Mountain" depicts a man named Rego Dean who captures Black Fury, a prized wild horse, during a dangerous mountain snowstorm. Though Dean initially plans to keep the horse, Black Fury's determination to return to her foal and original home ultimately proves too strong, and she escapes despite Dean's efforts to break her spirit through harsh treatment and an arduous eleven-mile ride. After Black Fury throws Dean and injures him, he is forced to release her, allowing the horse to return to her foal at the family farm where she belongs.
