Black Fury #45

In "Lead Cure," Black Fury is taken by a Cheyenne chief who wants to give the horse a lead compound cure for a mysterious ailment. A man named Lex Garvin, who is ill and traveling to a town called Aspen Flats, becomes involved in the dispute over Black Fury's ownership. When Ed Simms and his son encounter Black Fury on a mountain, they discover a giant killer cat has been stalking the area, having previously killed Begloy's prize thoroughbred horse; the boy is left half-stunned and horrified after witnessing the creature attack Black Fury.
