Black Fury #25

This July 1960 Charlton issue puts the magnificent black stallion front and center, caught mid-gallop as a rifle-toting cowboy fires point-blank — that bold "BLAM!" leaving no doubt about the danger at hand. A smaller inset panel hints at more trouble on the range, tying into the featured story "Barbed Wire" and its drought-stricken backdrop, while a tease for "The Storm" promises even more Western drama inside. With a Transogram Sweepstakes offering a real live pony as a prize, this issue had something exciting going on both on the cover and off the page.
